Hi, I'm Andrei Arkhipov, a computer scientist and a software engineer who co-founded Hut Finder with my fiancée, Lauren Wougk.

I was born in Russia, and currenrly living in Germany, finishing here my Master's degree in Computer Science at UBT. During my studies, I was researching software engineering processes at SAP Signavio as a part of my thesis project.

Early Life

I was born on August, 1999 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

At the age of 16, I started to learn programming. As I wanted to create games on Unity, my first language was C#, self-taught by watching YouTube tutorials authored by Alexander Shevchuk at ITVDN, whereas I studied essential programming concepts: OOP and Abstract Thinking.

I always wanted to learn things from the ground up. A few months later, I realized that, in order to understand Unity, I needed to create my own game engine. That decision led me to learn C++ through Lippman’s legendary 1,000-page book. It was a journey that took me about a year, whereas I studied essential concepts of Design Patterns, Algorithms and Data Structures.

I believed myself when approached Calculus a year before the high school. All I needed were a decent a dummies-series book and my whiteboard to visualize the concepts.

Later, my focus has shifted to UI/UX, and for making modern apps I approached HTML/CSS as well as Adobe XD (prior to these days of Figma's leadership) in order to craft interfaces. I was really profound in Photoshop so design was my second passion aside of development. Back then, there was no VSCode, but fancy Brackets editor.

Between 2017 and 2021, I studied applied Computer Science in the Moscow Polytechnic University where my life changed upside down. 1. I built a dream team. 2. We made a hug portfolio. 3. I recieved sponsorship from the university and Autodesk Inc. We were focusing on web applications for engineering: interactive 3D manuals and parts catalogs. We learnt engineering design in CAD, programming in CAD related to engineering design subjects.
